  • reminder: dont fall for hard luck scams

i just had another attempt yesterday at home depot. i get out of my car and get hit up by this grungie looking dude, his sales pitch was that he is stranded 50 miles from home with $20 in his pocket and that he needs $25 for a bus ride home, yeah right.

a few years back i was at my bank and a clean cut guy with a suite on hits me up for $20 showing me a broken out window on his car, someone had stollen his briefcase with his wallet in it and he needs gas money to get home. he would send me the $20 back as soon as he got home, im still waiting for that $20 coming in the mail.

that was the last time i gave and will give anyone a dime

Someone who is stupid enough to leave their briefcase and wallet in their car doesn't deserve assistance.

I will not, under any circumstances, give money to beggars. I don't care what they look like, how they are dressed, or where the begging is occurring.

I never give money to strangers. I don't even give money to friends.

come to think of it, i can't go anywhere where someone doesnt hit me up for change, even driving in the car i'll pass 1/2 dozen panhandlers just going to the grocery store.

Where do you live? I don't have that problem at all where I'm at. Unless I go into the city, no one hits me up for money.

I used to travel quite a bit for work. In my experience, San Francisco by FAR was the worst area for panhandlers I have ever seen.

It's really bad in my city too (Victoria, BC). They will also stand on medians at traffic lights and walk up to your car while you are stuck at a red light. I hate it.
