Another vote for Zenni Optical here. If you have a pretty basic prescription, can't beat their prices. Even if you just use them as a backup pair. My wife's wearing a pair from them right now (she usually wears contacts when she goes out, but around the house and just a quick trip out she wears her glasses).

Another Zenni Optical customer here.
Bought 5 different pairs last purchase.
2 progressive
2 single lens for computer
1 pair of sunglasses
Total: $123.00
No problems with fittings, adjustments, nothing.
And Zenni Optical does let you upload photo's to see how the frames look.
Hubby needed reading glasses. $8.00. Beautiful smoke black metal frames,
great nose pads, he is very happy with them.
Our independent eye doctor gladly gave us our PD. Our state requires it be
given if asked for.Last edited by wandaa84; 05-31-2012, 04:09 AM.

I'm a fan of 39dollarglasses.com. Have ordered many pairs of prescription glasses and sunglasses from them for a few years now, with no quality issues or fit issues. I got my latest contacts/glasses (I wear both) from Wal-Mart and then just took the Rx and typed in the info on the 39dollarglasses site, and ordered what I wanted. Do a search for the site name combined with "promo code" (do this with any of the above mentioned sites also) and you'll usually find a code that gives you free shipping. I remember the days of $300 glasses - fortunately the web has all but eliminated those prices!

Here in Seattle in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Fremont (they actually have one of those Stalin statues in their square - and a troll under the bridge with a VW bug in its grasp) there is a glasses place that promises that they only use products made by small, independent companies and they sell products at reasonable markups. I asked what it would cost to put me in a pair of contacts complete - they quoted $150 including optometrist and fitting. That was a better price than America'sBest. There is probably something similar in your city if you look (though, maybe, not as much fun as here).I YQ YQ R
