  • What are the best options for home improvement loans?

    Hi Guys,
Our credit scores, we recently found out is still only in the upper 600's. When we recently bought a car we were told we did not qualify for the 0% interest because we had filed bankruptcy. We now would like to get a home improvement loan but not sure what the best option for us would be. Should we just wait longer? Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

Not knowing any more details, my recommendation would be to wait and/or do smaller things that will make a difference to your living conditions/lifestyle.
Paint isn't hard to do but can go a long way in how a room/house appears.
With the bankruptcy in your past, the interest rate would be significantly higher I believe than it would be worth.

I wouldn't recommend doing any big home improvement jobs that would require taking out a loan at this point. Focus on saving cash instead and doing smaller jobs that you can afford to pay for in full. In the meantime, make sure you're taking the necessary steps to improve your credit scores while the BK grows older and older on your credit reports.

        I second this.
