This week has been tough on the stock market. Anyone experience any gains?

Corporate bond fund (ticker LQD) is up 0.5% this week. But yeah, tough week so far.

Yeah pretty tough week overall. I only have 2,083 weeks left until retirement!

Meh, the way I see it- tough weeks are gonna happen. It is just the nature of the beast. Stock market is going down this week, but it will go up in the future.

Right now is the perfect time to buy at a discount and dollar cost average. My Roth contribution goes through on Monday!

Agreed. The title on this thread is a bit misleading. The title is for a long term topic, but discussing a short term topic. Not quite what I was expecting when I clicked on the thread.

Likewise. Honestly, I have no idea if I had gains or losses this week. I simply don't pay attention to my values except to check on it 1-2 times a month (I track my monthly balances). I also have 35-40 years until retirement, so I'm not going to worry about day to day, week to week, or even month to month swings in the market. The contributions to both my retirement and taxable accounts are on autopilot, and DCA will do it's thing for me just fine.

Exactly. I really truly don't care what the market or my portfolio did this week. Twenty years from now, it isn't going to matter.

Hmmm. I never looked at it in those terms. If I retire at 62, I've only got about 745 weeks until I'm 62. Not sure if that's when I'll retire but that's what I'm shooting for.
