I have a laptop that cost me $1,800 in the year 2011. I've allocated out 65% business 35% personal use. I have an LLC and use Scheduel C to report expenses and sales. I downloaded form 4562: Depreciation and Amortization. There are 6 parts to it, and I know I don't have to fill out all the parts only the ones that apply. However it is a bit confusing, I believe I just fill out part III. All I want is to depreciate my $1170(65% business) laptop from what the IRS has established as a 5 year period.
