  • Transunion won't let me change address

Ugh! Hate all this bull crap about credit and what-not. My credit is fine, but there is a "confusion" about my address between Allstate Insurance and Transunion. Allstate sent a letter saying that Transunion reported the incorrect address. Well, of course they did! We have only lived here three weeks! ARGH!

So I log on and use up my free report with Transunion just to try to clear this idiocrap up... But, no, Transunion's "Request Update" will not let me change it.

Did you tell Allstate that you've lived there only 3 weeks? If you told them the wrong amount of time you've lived there, then that is your problem. If you told them the right amount of time and they still have a problem, maybe you need to look to another (and probably cheaper) insurance.
Don't torture yourself, thats what I'm here for.

Unfortunately, Allstate has proven the cheapest (we have a 2007 Ford Focus w/ a reconstructed title). It went up by $56/mo when we moved over here for some crazy reason, even though we now drive less (as in, never) and park in a controlled access parking garage.

Esurance (an entity of Allstate) was going to be $127/mo ($39 cheaper), but they do not insure reconstructed title vehicles.

They should know that I have only been here this long, as once you update your address on the Allstate web site, they transfer your account to the nearest branch, which they have done.

Do you have any credit cards? Have you changed your address with them? That's usually the fastest way to get things shoved through the system with the credit reporting agencies. Also, any student loans? Change your address with them. Anything that reports to the credit agencies, change your address right away. Don't rely on the post office to do it. It also might help to go talk to a human at your nearest Allstate branch.
