Did anyone have trouble returning gifts this year? I ran into a number of problems. it seemed that the stores weren't near as willing to take returns this year. I mamaged to get it doe, but it was like pulling out teeth and I had to complain a lot to do it. Was it just bad luck on my part or are others seeing the same thing?

We had some problems at Sears this year. I bought the wrong size belts for my dh and we only wanted to exchange them. First, they told me I would have to pay the difference between the sale price and the regular price for the same two belts and one that was almost the same -- just a different color. I refused. They did charge me for "exchanging" the belt that was the same style, buckle, except it was a different color. I told the manager of the department that if this is Sears policy, I would not be shopping at Sears again. She said nothing. I wonder if others had the same problem -- I had the receipts and I certainly wasn't looking to rip them off -- just get the right size.

Sometimes, I just keep things rather than go thru the trouble to exchange. Our nearest wal mart is in the next state! I do have one pair of pants I need to return but I will have to drive 50 miles round trip to do it.

My family got us things that they knew we needed for our kitchen or apartment, jewelry, and they knew what size I was for shirts, so I lucked out this year and don't need to make any returns or exchanges!
