I really needed a car myself. Got one AT 30, when I could afford the payments. I walked, use the public transportation, used taxis until then.

My folks would have given everything they could, but we were pretty poor when I was your age. Let's say I went to our 'prom' with a BORROWED dress and cheap shoes paid in 2 monthly installments. Yes, this poor.

I never expected my folks to give me anything. The soonest I could, I got a job, went to college and helped them as much as I could. Even now, at 33, I am minding my own business and still helping my family
