  • $34 for children's pants

I decided to shop around and see if I could find a pair of pants to replace ones DD has outgrown (I'm trying to find a pair that's as similar as possible, since these are her favorite pants, and the store that sold them has since closed!)...I walked into a store which sells children's clothes and, saw a beautiful pair of white capris - luckily, these are NOT what I am looking for- and, out of sheer curiosity, I looked at the price tag: $34!!! I nearly had a heart attack...$10 is as much as I'm willing to pay for pants for my daughter...and that is if they are high quality, as she's so skinny, I know she won't outgrow them so soon! (the ones I'm trying to get rid of are already 2 years old, too short and would be too tight if they weren't spandex!!)...am I the only one that think this is a ridiculous price??

    Ridiculous!

It's not like she'll be able to wear them for more than 2 years, right?

My next to last pair of jeans came from Goodwill. They were from Target and they were new. Regularly retailed for $27.99 and I got them for $5. I had really wanted this pair but wouldn't pay the retail price. Unfortunately, gained some weight and needed a new pair ASAP. This time I had no choice and went to KMart where I bought a pair of Riders Vintage jeans for $29.99. Made in China, of course.

These suckers better last a long time.

I agree. I never buy children's clothes new unless they are on clearance. I get a lot of hand-me-downs (it's amazing how many people will give you things once you get the word out that you are accepting!) or at the thrift store. Right now (because I have an infant and toddler) I get their clothes at 2/$1 at the thrift store!! I also ask for clothes as gifts - my kids have enough toys already, but they can always use clothes.
The prices are absolutely ridiculous for something they might wear for a year, if that.

I work at Dillard's in the Childrens shoe dept. They have Kid's Levi jeans for boys and girls for only $17.99 through the end of the year, JC Penney has their Arizona jeans for the same price $17.99 I would definately head to Dillards and buy the Levi's for $17.99

          I don't know.
If they wear the pants for a year, but they wear it twice a week....the per wear price is still pretty low.

It all depends on whether the kid love those pants enough to wear it every other day.
