Funny ways to save money

My dads in the early days use to give missed calls from phone booths and expect call back from them. It was really funny to see the way he would fight with my mom while trying to explain what he was doing.

I didn't think my simple plan was 'funny way to save money' until someone told me it was 'strange.' We have a list of when particular categories go on sale and plan spending accordingly. For example, October list includes root vegetables, canned produce, auto, glassware. The cost avoidance sum goes to savings. The odd time I find coupons applicable to items on my list, that rebate likewise goes to savings. Like many others we daily dump change into a container. All these sums are relatively small but they add up significantly in a year.

I have heard of people saving little bitty scraps of soap, and using them in an old sock to save money on a body wash/sponge (sounds a bit odd to me). I also read once someone would use a match as their deodorant (would not recommend that for obvious safety reasons!!!).

That's just ghetto.

I had a friend who only wanted to marry a man who can fix things.She said it will save thousands of dollars each year. Funny thing is she's still single.

It could be that she has nothing of worth to offer men.
