Our city's student supply lists are entirely reasonable this year! What a change.

Here, for example, is what 3rd graders are asked to bring. Notice that even pencils are optional. I guess that means the school is supplying them. Gone are the requests for alcohol handle cleaners, Chlorox wipes, paper towels, boxes of tissue, extra boxes of crayons and markers, etc.

    Third Grade
    1 age appropriate book bag/backpack
    2 3-ring binders
    4 spiral notebooks (wide ruled)
    5 pocket folders
    1 box of crayons (optional)
    1 package of markers
1 pair of scissors (blunt tip)
    2 glue sticks (optional)
    5 #2 pencils (optional)
    2 highlighters
    1 box of tissue
    1 12”/30cm ruler

    Any changes in your area?

    NO!!!

For my 3rd grader, the list includes
-Avery labels (both 5163 and 8160)
    -Post-its
    -Clorox wipes
-Ream (or more) of copy paper
    -Headphones
    -Zip-lock bags
    -Dry erase markers
    -Package of page protectors

This list excludes the normal things, like paper, pencils. I also have 3 other kids. I haven't looked at their lists, yet.
