  • how to block pre-approved offers

Both of my teenagers are getting credit card offers and at one time someone posted a link or phone number on here to make them stop. Could you kindly re-post it. Thanks

An easy way to remember it: 1-888-5-OPT-OUT.

How old are your teenagers? My understanding was that they couldn't advertise to minors...

I think if they are 18 and over, the person has to opt out themselves. I just used this number last week (OPT-OUT). However, about a month or two ago, I called JP Morgan Chase, because they were literally sending me three-four credit card offers each week, which really annoyed me, since I don't use credit cards at all and keep them only for emergencies, locked away. They SAID they would remove me and offers would cease within one week's time. However, they are continuing to come as of this week, months later.

The best thing to do is call that number, because I think it polices the companies to some extent. They don't always listen to you, if you call them directly yourself (e.g. CC companies)!!

thank you one of my teenagers is 16 and the other is 18. I think the 16 got started because he was going online looking for auto insurance quotes. The boy is very eager to get his licence and a car.
