Congrats.I hope you got the latest ipad 2.Its an amazing device with simplicity and performance unmatched. There an eco system of apps.Regarding suggestions,it depends on purpose you intend to use the ipad. One of my favorites is Netflix, which I read you are already having on.How about Angry Birds and Pulse. They are great addons as well.

I'm so jealous... I have been thinking of getting one soon to help my consulting business. It is much more attractive than a laptop to whip out (which I instead use printouts unless I have to grab the laptop). Plus.. they're just fun... and sexy!

Yes, it is an iPad 2.

I've discovered that the medical survey app I do on my iPhone works tremendously better on the iPad. Between the larger screen and the much faster processor, using it on the iPad is a snap compared to the phone.

        * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
        * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
        * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Hmmm.... maybe your DW should get you an Ipad2 for Father's Day so she can get hers back.

I asked DH is he wanted an Ipad2, a Macbook Pro or a golf club for Father's Day.... He picked a golf club (much to my disappointment ) .

I've been using Overdrive to read ebooks from my library so I don't have to buy them. I don't like it very much. A friend just recommended Bluefire, another ereader app that works with library books. I'm going to try that this week.

I like Instapaper, Evernote, and I'm just experimenting with Remember the Milk.

I like flipbook for news. It also makes facebook newsfeed reading a lot cooler.

My SO grandmother has Parkinson that causes her right hand to shake. She got an ipad on her doctors recommendation because certain games will help improve the shaking and her coordination.

Does that mean you can write it off as a medical expense?

I replaced my kitchen PC with an ipad. Takes up much less space, is more handy for a quick internet lookup or pulling up a recipe. Sometimes use it to check my email.

There should be lots of apps available in your field Steve, think you'd find it very useful in the office and much easier to read than the iphone.

It is DW's, not mine. It won't be coming to the office with me - not unless I get one of my own.

Congratulations on the purchase Steve. The Macbook Air is a very good product (I do not personally have one), but again they are totally different devices. I am amazed on how the medical field has been able to use the iPad. Unbelieveable.

DS: wouldn't your practice benefit from you having an iPad? Will it make it faster to do more surveys, thereby increasing income? Would you not find it helpful in your role of Pres. of the congregation? Would it be suitable for a community leader to lead by example, with new technology?
