I'm buying my fathers car from him. I was already listed on his car as a secondary driver, but now that I'll be moving to another neighborhood in the same place (Clinton, IL), will I have to get new car insurance? I don't want to check with my car insurance company until absolutely necessary, so looking at you all for inputs.

You are an adult, living independently from your parents. Different address. Car will be titled in your name. You should have your own insurance.Steve
* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Run a list on-line or use an insurance broker who uses a wide variety of re-insurers. The best rates depend on your region/community, age, driving record and some use FICO scores. If you have renter's insurance with the same company you may be eligible for a discount. Make sure you are setting the same coverage as you seek comparatives.

Are you living in a different state than your father? Insurance laws and registrations run on totally different systems state to state. For instance, when I moved from MN to WI, I had to buy new insurance since I was going to a different state. I went through the same company as my parents, but now have separate policies.
As always, see if you can lump together different types of insurance for discounts. I got my renters, auto, and identity theft protection insurance from the same agent/company and got discounts.Check out my new website at www.payczech.com !
