I do not know anyone whom I can consider who has money-issues. However, it is true though that when people have money, all they can think of is how to spend it. It is like a magnetic-pull to the mall and the cash register.
I do check my accounts as often as the OP. I believe the reason why is because I'm actually starting to see progress in my finances. I came out of a marriage where I did not manage the money, did not know how, was silly with money, and ended up in a lot of debt because of my silliness.
Three years later, other than some student loans which I am planning on consolidating, I am almost debt free. As of today I have three credit cards, and between those three I owe all of $122 (which will be paid off next week). My savings, which has always fluctuated, is now on a steady incline. I am finally getting my money to work for me, and it is a great feeling.
So I am at a point where I do check my account, more because I'm reflecting on the recent good I have been doing and hopefully will continue to do. I imagine in time the novelty will wear off, but I am enjoying the feeling for now.
Honestly, I do need to stop checking my account and start removing some discrepancies on my credit report, but I have been putting it off.
