        2-1/2 weeks pay for an engagement ring? That sounds pretty reasonable. So now the question is if $1,800 for that particular ring is reasonable.

          I think if it's normally priced at $3000, then it's probably worth between 1500-2000

          So 1800 is reasonable

          If it were me, I'd get it. Especially since you know she already likes it.

            Some people think rings or jewelry is a waste of money. But, I think one has to look at the relationship and what is important to each other. To many women, a nice quality engagement ring is very important. And, a sign of love and committment. But, you can certainly buy a beautiful ring at a decent price as well. The most important thing is the love behind it. And, it is something will have and cherish and possibly pass down to any children. So, I think it is important to choose well.
