  • Packages sent to old address. Need help!!!!!

I have three packages that were accidentially sent to my old address when I forgot to update my paypal address. The new tenants at my old address signed for the packages and kept them. The place I used to live was very seedy, and I am too scared about those tenants to ask for my packages back.

Is there anything I can do? I can't properly celebrate Christmas without those gifts.

Have you made any attempt to retrieve the packages? I would at least contact the people living there and ask for your property to be returned. Either pick it up, if practical, or offer to pay the postage for them to forward it to you. If you really have reason to fear the tenants, how about contacting the property owner/manager and explaining the situation? Perhaps they can intervene on your behalf. Last option I can think of is to call the police. This is theft, plain and simple. They took things that didn't belong to them. Perhaps if the police come knocking at their door, they'd return the items.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

The fact that you have proof of delievery and if you can provide a list of what was to be inside those packages, means that you can pursue these people in small claims court or even civil court (depending on cost). They have your property that you paid for; but then again, it's unlikely that anything will be resolved before Christmas.

I don't know if your local police will assist or not, but you can call them and ask them whether or not they could meet with you at the old address for assistance on recovering your property. You'd have to provide proof to them as well.
