We didn't go out on Black Friday but both Saturday and today we were out and the stores were pretty quiet. Yesterday, we were at a mall in Philadelphia and it was pretty dead. Today, we were at Target and I think there were more employees than customers. Granted, both days we were there on the early side, before noon, but I still expected them to be busier. It will be interesting to see how the retail numbers turn out this season.

My brother-in-law is a Black Friday shopper of many years and he explained that between 5 - 7 am, it's a madhouse. Then from 8 to 10 am it's quiet with the early shoppers having gone home. Then it gets busy again around noon for a few hours and then simmer down for the rest of the afternoon.

The Kmart that I work at part time was super busy all weekend long. Black Friday sales were up 10% from last year, and the weekend was up 15% from last year.Originally posted by disneysteve View PostWe didn't go out on Black Friday but both Saturday and today we were out and the stores were pretty quiet.
