If a parked car is hit and totaled and there is no information about the driver at fault who is probably a hit and run (because this happened at mid-night two days ago) can the owner file a claim with his own insurance company? This happened to my cousin living in PA two nights ago. Will he be able to claim under Comprehensive or uninsured motorist coverage? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is covered in his comprehensive policy. He will need to file a police report. If he only has liability, he's out of luck.

If he only has liability he may still be able to get uninsured motorists to pay after a deductible depending on your states laws regarding uninsured motorist insurance.

I think it would depend on what is mentioned in his PA car insurance policy. PA is a no-fault state but that’s only for medical coverage I think. His car insurance agent would be the right person to contact.
