With so many places offering online discounts this year the day before Thanksgiving, why bother with Black Friday? There were so many options for getting what you want without leaving home. Not sure why people would camp out all morning (or night with stores starting Black Friday on Thursday at 10 p.m. or midnight). We used to participate, but there just wasn't anything this year that made sense to even bother.

We went to WalMart yesterday (Black Friday). No, we didn't go at midnight or whatever time they opened. We went around 1:00pm. It was pretty quiet. We didn't go for any special sales or doorbusters. We just went to do some routine shopping. It was actually calmer than it would typically be on a weekend afternoon which was nice. Not a bad time to shop at all.

We've gone out on Black Friday in prior years and found the same to be true. By noontime, everything is pretty much back to normal or even slower than normal.
