  • Saving money thru procrastination

Well I found out a few months ago that my LLC was suspended for failure to file an annual report. I stupidly thought the service I subscribed to handled (and paid for) all that stuff.

    Ugh.

So I refused to pay the invoice the registered agent service ($250 annually). They pestered and perstered saying I couldn't just quit them. Well today they sent me a note saying they closed my account because my LLC was suspended. So I don't owe the $250.

So I went to the state's website and had my LLC reinstated and paid the fees. $377.50. Also listed myself as Agent.

So I didn't have to pay the annual report fee ($150), plus the fine ($400) or the Registered Agent's subcription fee of $250.

So by dragging my feet and ignoring their pestering, I saved $422.50. I learned all I do is go on their site each April, confirm my info and pay a $150 fee. Think I can handle that.

    Procrastination Rocks

That's funny. I've actually saved money procrastinating as well. Was looking and buying something I thought I needed and by the time I made up my mind the deal was off and I missed out. Turned out I didn't need it anyways as a friend was getting rid of some stuff and gave me what I thought I needed (big tv screen).
