Hello all!
I am new to the board, joined today. I have been here thrice before (earlier this week).
It turns out that I have entered into a major change in my life and it managed to spark a serious interest in me to "get it all right".
ONE of the things I had on my list was to get my finances right.
First I took steps to get all my bills onto one page so I could see them.
Then I started to list all my debt totals on the one page. (YUCK!!!)
Then, as I stared at the page and came up with ideas... I came up with a plan (one that I will share in coming posts as I get to know the board and the members get to know me).
Essentially I focused in, did some research (thanks to this board I found some nice tools to help!), and set some goals.
At some point, I might get all the details out in front for you all to see...but for now suffice it to say that I am feeling very serious about these things. I know me, how to motivate me, and keep me interested in things...
Hopefully I can find a nice community here to get involved with such that I can keep things going in this particular area...heck, might even help me keep focused on some of the other things.
For now though, I have given up sharing needles with bums under the overpass and unprotected S.. with ... uh, you get the idea- that is really all i have actually done, other than to analyze my situation and where i need to get to.
Categories of improvements:
Finances
Health
Fitness
Time management (at home and at work)
Progressing the "internet empire" I have been "working" on
Possible education advancement
Interpersonal relationships
For time management I have already:
Begun a regimented early wake up program that includes "conditioning" my body to get up exactly when I set my alarm.
Cut TV out almost entirely...I have PLANNED events where I allow myself to watch TV (think sunday football or a DVD).
Once the dust settles from those two transitions, I will have a better grasp on what time I have during the day. With it, I will build my schedules...
(I must say this- no tv after work yields a significant quantity of time to sit at the computer, work on the house, work on the car, etc. I can see huge benefits already!)
Thanks for reading this!
Be Good!
