  • Attention PF Bloggers

I'm just curious on how often you post to your blogs?

I work fulltime, have a family and go to school fulltime so time is limited to how often I can post content to my blog. I'm connected to twitter and follow mainly PF bloggers.

What i'm seeing on twitter and other PF blogs small like mine is post after post sometimes within an hour of eachother. What gives? I love to blog about PF but who has this kind of time? Even the small blogs I follow that have only one blogger post like mad.

I know that JD from Get Rich Slowly is a full-time writer, and he has made it a mission to post once a day.

To some like me, that's a lot. To others, it's too far and few in between.

However, JD's posts are typically very well written, and well-written articles take time. Research takes time. Proofreading takes time. Even family time takes time. It's a classic case of quality over quantity.

As you can probably tell, I prefer quality over quantity (seeing as how there is already a glut of information on the internet), but the bottom line is, it depends on what you believe in, and even what your writing style is.

Edit: Oh, as for me, it's a casual hobby. I post whenever I feel like it, can think of something to write about, and have the time for it.

I am with BA. Casual hobby. I have a fair amount of free time, though. But I don't spend a lot of time on my casual blog posts. Even if long, I Tend to just spit them out.

I do have a full-time job and a family though. (Other than that, not a lot going on. That is PLENTY!). I can not keep up with the likes of twitter and facebook. Most of the people I know on hyper drive, have a blackberry or iphone glued to their hand 24/7, OR, they don't have much going on (not working, kids in school, way too much spare time). Others just neglect their family and job.

Don't get me wrong - I spend a lot of time online. BUT, I also turn it off large chunks of the time. I can't be wired 24/7 - not my thing. Younger people tend to do the 24/7 wired thing. (I'm 33!)

not be online! How can you even think of disconnecting for one minute!!!!

Kidding, I think I spend too much time online, but if it weren't' for link roundups and updates on the basics, I couldn't post daily on my education blog. (and even with them, I often don't post) Education BTW being a bit nearer and dearer to my heart than PF, no offense intended.

Now I used to post daily on this blog....but it wasn't monumental, it was an update of how finances were going for me and mine. Something I needed to keep first and foremost for a long time to make sure the ends met. Now that it is an old habit, I tend to only post when something new comes long.

I try to post about daily, but my reason for doing so it to keep my thinking active and try to practice my writing skills. It's a good release for me and it's always nice to read comments.

As for the 24/7 online, it's not for me either. I spend quite a bit of time on-line, but being "on" all the time would be very tiring.
