Has anyone considered or done carpooling or ride sharing before? has anyone used http://www.erideshare.com/ that could give me their opinion on the system and how it worked for you?

It is not really practical for me.

I carpool with my wife, so I don't have a need for a carpooling service.

I'm carpooling with another family in DD's class at school. The roundtrip drive is 30-32 miles, but we live about .5 miles apart, so it works out really well.

I've never had a job where it would work. Either I had to worry about picking up kids, running errands on my lunch hour or I've worked nontraditional hours.

Right now, I have to drop off my two kids before I go to work and then pick them up on the way home. Most people do not have cars that can handle having booster seats plus whatever they need to have.

I've never done it because I either cycle or walk to work, but it would certainly reduce the cost of transport plus provide a great benefit to the environment.
