you know, we can give you all the pointers in the world but if you do not have the discipline to follow even one of them then you wont get anywhere. The important thing is a good mental attitude and perseverance and determination to save cash.If you have this then, the points here all come alive

Stop Spending
Get rid of any credit cards you can do without. Plan only to use cash or cheques.
Consolidate your debt (replace 2 or more loans with one if possible).
Shop around for cheaper car insurance.
Shop around (and online) for better deals.
Eat at home.
Plan your spending - Make sure your monthly bills are covered before you spend on anything else.If necessary open a separate bank account for household bills and transfer the neccessary funds to this account each month.

Big saver this time of year if you're in a warm climate is turn down/off the A/C. I wear comfortable shorts and a sleeveless shirt or tanktop most of the time in the Summer. I rarely lower the A/C below 78 and am very comfortable. If you get hot, wet a washrag down and wipe off. Very refreshing."Those who can't remember the past are condemmed to repeat it".- George Santayana.

Lots of awesome suggestions on here, just reading through all of your responses is quite inspiring. Looking forward to spending more time here and hopefully having some of this discipline rub off on me and I can pass it on to my wife!

Shop at Dollar Tree. It will change your perspective on how much things should really cost. Love that store. You can buy tons of stuff there like gift cards, spices and cleaning supplies for a dollar or less, and we all know how much that stuff can run you at the grocery store.
