  • cost of tires at Walmart

Car needs new tires. Most things are less expensive at Walmart.

I see their service fees are much less for mounting, valvestems, and balancing the tires (about $28 for four tires compared to $72+ elsewhere).

However, on Walmart.com the tires are totally overpriced, and for selection there were only 4 types of Goodrich tires. Is there better in-store pricing? I would drive there to check, but I might fly off the road on my bald tires.

I found Cooper Tires to be competitive with WM. Mention your quote from WM, others will likely compete.

If their labor is reasonable, buy the tires from tirerack.com and then have WM install them.

I get my tires from walmart and they are competively priced and they almost always have them instock unlike others in my area. I have a common size so being out of stock is mostly unacceptable. If my local walmart is out they do call the others and find them for me.

Try Costco and American's Tires, they are pretty competitive. The problem i have with TIRERAC.COM is they kill you in shipping to those tires

The price differs with respect to size and make... You better find from the official website to check the authenticated information.

I got my last set of tires at Monroe. They were the same price as Walmart, but they give you a free rotation every 5000 miles for the life of the tires. Walmart did not offer this.

I always thought their shipping was very reasonable, given the size and weight of the items.

Compared to most tire places, tirerack + shipping + installation was still cheaper, although I don't know if that's true when comparing to WM prices.

Costco, Tire Rack and Discount Tire are all prety competitive. They also have consumer reviews on the websites so you can see what customers think of different tires.

Sometimes the cheapest price isn't the best value. Educate yourself on how tires are rated.

                      Good luck!
