I also have Sprint and have everything listed above, except 1 phone, 450 anytime minutes (with free nights/weekends) and no insurance. I pay $61.13 a month after all the taxes, fees, etc. have been added. I receive a discount thru my employer.

The Family plan works out best when there are multiple people on the account, because the first line is expensive but each additional line is only $9.99. If you have other family members who use AT&T, maybe you could add a couple of them to your account and have everyone split the bill. That's what we do. Our account is 5 phones: me, my wife, my daughter, my mother and my cousin. The people on the plan do not need to all be in the same household, or even the same state for that matter. You pay $130 for 2 people but would pay about $145 (with taxes) for 3 or $160 for 4 which would lower the per person cost considerably.

* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
I'm curious how many of you, especially those with fairly costly cell plans, have that as your only phone. That makes a big difference in what is reasonable to pay. We also have a land line so we pay about $30/month for that along with our cell plan. If we had no land line, I wouldn't mind spending more on the cell plan since it would work out about the same in the end.

I changed my carrier about a year ago. I really don't talk or text much on my phone and was getting bent over backwards paying $55 a month to Verizon every month with 100s of minutes and texts left over. To make matters worst sometimes I would forget to pay on time and have a $5 fee added on.
So I made the switch to Net10 and I wish I had switched sooner. They are pay as you go and I always buy 300 minutes for $30. Depending on how much I use my phone the $30 will last me at least a month and usually six weeks. I once had the $30 stretch two months.

Mine is exactly the same, except for the insurance. I think mine might come out closer to $110.
--T Mobile PrePaid
--Old model phone--no bells and whistles.
--1000 minutes that expire in 1 year unless I add a $10 card before they expire. Then they roll over into the next year. I've done this twice.
I rarely use the phone--it's mostly just to call a tow truck or confirm directions. I still have abotu 650 of my original 1000 minutes that I bought 3 years ago.

My cell is my only phone.
I don't pay for internet or cable (right now at least, since they're included -- probably will never get cable again, even after I move into my own place.)
