  • Ebay Sales Improving - Is it an indication that the economy is doing better?

    Idea to ponder:
My ebay sales were plummeting two years ago. Recently (over the last month) I have seen a steady incline on total sales and the dollar amount of the sales. Could this be an indication that the economy is getting better and there is more discretionary income to spend on things like Ebay. I mainly sell vintage toys (not really a need and only bought when there is discretionary income).

What are your thoughts? Anyone else sell on Ebay and see an incline in sale?

I've been selling on ebay for 13 years. Sometimes sales are great. Other times, not so great. It never seems to be tied to the economy as much as it is tied to the particular items I happen to be selling at any given time. I also sell collectibles, so mainly discretionary stuff. In the past couple of weeks, several of my items have gone unsold despite having numerous watchers and lots of views, so I haven't seen a significant pick up in sales.
