Re: How much do you make? What is your house worth?
Where do you live?: Central Ohio
How old are you?: 41
How much do you make? : Hubby 50,000 (Supervisor of Locomotives small RR) me sporadic but minimal, I run the farm /ebay/sell veggies(now ask me how much I THINK I should make!)
How much is your house worth?: House the bank and insurance claim it's worth 160,000, personally wouldn't give more than 80,000 for it, but the whole farm is worth approx 500,000-600,000 at the moment, more if subdivided.
What amazes me is the prices of just homes and townhomes (275,000? YIKES!) I know I about choked when my MIL paid 239,000 for a condo when we paid 225,000 for our origional 48 acres with 4 barns and shop! We've since added an additional 36 acres to it
I do have to say though that we got VERY lucky purchasing our farm, it was at auction and there was a moto cross next door, we had no problem with it at all but no one else wanted to live with it. Since we bought it the Citiots living across the road got the moto cross shut down and our property values sky rocketed. (citiots= city idiots that move out of town and then complain about the noise/dust/smells/animals etc that FEED THEM!)
One other question that wasn't ask that would be interesting is what property taxes people pay, we're in CAUV (ag tax) district and taxes are just over 1,100 a year for us.
