If I go from 0 exemptions to claiming 1 (myself), is it likely that I would end up oweing? How do I find out?

The irs website has a withholding calculator you could try.

If you use TurboTax or a tax prepcompany like H&R Block, they should be able to tell you how many exemptions to take so that you won't owe and will have a smaller refund next year (and more in your paycheck.) Ask for a new W-4.
