  • Saving Money on Chocolate

This is a question directed toward one of my vices. I love chocolate. I have to have a few pieces a day and I tend to love the rich (and expensive) chocolates the most. Hersey bars don't do it for me, but Godiva chocolate definitely does. My question is what is the best premium chocolate out there for the best price? What is your favorite chocolate and how do you get it for the best price? Are there tricks to getting chocolate at reasonable prices. I'd love to learn any tricks you have and share your favorite chocolates (since I am always willing to try new ones!)

I think Dove is really good for the price. Ghiardelli is good also.

Also, check into any Latino markets you might have near you. I can't remember what it's called but there is a chocolate bar from South America (I want to say Argentina?) that I have had from the place down the street from me and it's like $1 and awesome. I'll check what it's called next time I go.

You should have stocked up on the after Valentines day clearances. Even the Godiva goes on sale after that holiday - the premium stuff doesn't keep until next year.

You might also get lucky with after Easter clearance.

Oh, that is a good thought except I do try to limit the amount that I have in my house at one time. If I have a lot, I'll eat it much faster than if AI only have a little. Maybe this is one thing that I shouldn't stock up on now that I think about it.

Well you asked how to save money, not manage your waistline!

You could store it in the freezer. It's harder to pig out on it when it's frozen.
