I give up for now.
As I've posted awhile back, I've been looking to buy a new pickup truck. For cash.
Almost all these dealers have changed their game. They are pretty much all selling for "invoice". But they tack on "doc fees" of anywhere from $300 to $600. They aren't upfront about this and want to spring it on you after you've made your deal. And they won't budge on it either - they say it's dictated by "corporate". Yeah, whatever.
And if you want to just order a truck - full list price. Incentives aren't applied until the time of delivery - so if there aren't any then, you are just out of luck!
The only maker that seems to be cutting a decent deal is Chevrolet (below invoice). I got burned bad on my last GM and will NEVER buy another.
So I'm gonna sit tight until the gas prices go up this summer and see what's out there again. Maybe they'll change their tune then. I'm also keeping my eye out for 1-2 year old used trucks too.
