"unmotivated" folks annoy me

Live in your home and enjoy it. Keep your home to your liking. DOn't worry too much about neighbors as they come and go.

But what if the neighbors are doing something that impacts me being able to enjoy my home?

I'm no fan of HOAs and we intentionally bought our house in an older neighborhood that didn't have one but it would be nice to have a basic set of rules and regulations that everyone had to follow. The problem is that HOAs go overboard and want to micromanage every aspect of life right down to what color curtains you can hang on your windows INSIDE your home.

I'm sorry, but if you are not working, you can pull some weeds. I know he is not well off b/c in the past he commented he "needed a job" and they got a bill for a couple things from the hospital for not having insurance. I know that at least the kkids shoudl qualify for state insurance as do pregnant women. Also he has wanted to get a new rook for years but can't afford the 10 grand or so.

Yes, I know I am being gossipy but a run down property does affect me. I want to get a new siding and someday upgrade my kitchen. I am telling you when I see other people not maintaining, my thoughts move more to MOVING which I don't want to go through at all so it affects me again.
also his weeds impair my yard yearly and made one of us get poison ivy.

According to you. Look, if you you want to bother yourself and have the angst in the pit of your stomach over what your neighbor does or doesn't that is up to you. I really don't care what my neighbors do unless it is something extreme and law breaking. I don't care if they side their home in rainbow colors or put gothic statues on their lawn or whatever. I don't care. The only really annoying thing is pets that bark 24 7 or those who don't keep their stupid pets in their own yard. In that case, I tell them or if it is repeated call the dog catcher.
But, other than that they can pull the weeds or not. And, if my neighbor came and told me how to maintain my property I would have to tell him that is my business and not his.
