    I am sure it will be because I make less than you and it helps my taxes. But if your still not sure I would work the taxes both ways and see.

      We lost our match this year, sigh. We are still contributing to a 401k however we have not started a Roth. I am afraid retirement is not in our future!!

        With only one income of around 50k and a young kid, you should be in a fairly low tax bracket. I would max out the Roths and then put any extra into 401k.

        Just my 2 cents.
