  • Is this a good price for a Wii and games?

This person is asking $350 for the following:

    Wii Console
    Motion Sensor
    2 controllers
    3 Wii MotionPlus accessories
    2 nunchuks
    WiiSports game
    WiiSports Resort game
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 game
    My Fitness Coach game
    Large carrying case

She says that everything was only played with a handful of times and just wants to get rid of it all as they were bought for her by her now-ex-boyfriend.

So, I have no idea how much anything for a Wii costs. Anyone have a clue if $350 is a good price or is it a ripoff??

    Thanks!

The Wii Sports Resort Motionplus Bundle ($590 to $650) includes everything listed except Tiger Woods PGA Tour ($70 for the Motionplus bundle), My Fitness Coach ($30), and the carrying case ($20 to $40).

So, brand new, the whole thing would have been worth at least $710. I'll let you decide if that's a good deal or not.

Wow, didn't think it would've been $700+ new. Thanks for the info.

We just bought something similar for $300. My spouse has a pretty good idea what all this stuff sells for, locally. I'd say it is a decent deal, but it is possible you can talk it down a bit.

(You can get a system for $200-ish without the MotionPlus and Fitness coach. But if you want that stuff, it is far cheaper to buy it used in a bundle than any other way!)

I work in the electronics department at Kmart as a part time job. Everything that you listed would come to around 525 to 550 retail if you were to buy it all brand new. You're getting a decent deal if the seller is asking 350 for everything.

Thanks for the input! This Wii stuff is completely foreign to me so I really do appreciate it.

It's an ok deal. Just be sure everything works and the disks are not scratched

Hmm, I think I've made yet another mistake, because that particular bundle I've linked to appears to include the Wii Fit and board, which explains the price difference.

Dang, I need to either start paying attention or just stop posting.

I asked my dh out of curiosity.

Actually, all that stuff would come out to about $450 brand new. Thing is, the WiiMotion Plus accessories come with a couple of those games. Stuff like that. The only thing he didn't know the price on was the carrying case (because it is useless and he would never buy it). He wanted me to add that.

He says you could probably find a better bundle for cheaper, if you keep an eye out. You can pay $150 for an entire system with some extra controllers. $250-$300 once you throw in popular games, etc. The wii Fit/board comes at a big premium.

He told me he wouldn't pay more than $300 for everything listed. That would be on the high side even.

Kind of what I Was thinking with our recent Wii purchases. We just bought 2 systems for our parents. (In the past he has bought and sold a few for profit. So he knows way more than he should. I am laughing as he totals up the exact retail figure in his head - "that game comes with this, and that game comes with this." oy vey).

I agree with the above post.

Everything listed will cost no more than 275 - 300 if you shop around.

Wow, okay. Thanks, guys! I'll offer $275 and see if she'll take it. Otherwise, I'll look elsewhere.

My only other input is we live in a big city and there are dozens for the taking. Which changes things a bit if you live in the middle of nowhere.

Usually, the best deal is you are willing to drive out a bit in the boonies. People don't want to drive out of town (even just 20 miles) to pick up a good deal. Good Luck!

I just want to input that if you are buying this for a child or a gamer, those are just about the most boring games available. They are great for the "family" crowd when you play with parents or for an adult non gamer party crowd, but if a child will be playing them alone, you are better off getting a cheaper bundle with the system and the controllers.

That said, retail value, that is a pretty good deal on all that stuff.

Thanks for all the input, everyone! After reading all the posts, we offered $275 but she came back at $300 final. We are still thinking about it but we'll probably take it at $300. See, as I figure it, if we do buy it for $300, you guys saved us $50!
