Sometimes I just get tired. Sometimes you just feel like giving up. Must be the weather! But, as I get older I find that I am getting more fearful that maybe I can't keep up. Or, that I am not smart enough, attractive enough and all that and life is going to pass me by now for the younger crowd. I have a good job but at times I am afraid of what would happen to me if I lost it. Kind of scary as the opportunities seem to begin to evaporate down the road of life.

Do You Ever Just Feel Like Giving Up?

Keep your head up. I remember the uncertainty I felt when I was young and not sure if I could measure up to my peers. I'm sure that I did as well as the majority of them did, if not better. I have no doubts like that anymore and I Prefer being a little older and wiser.
Depending on your occupation, opportunities abound for those who are the most prepared and that's generally those who have done the most...i.e, those of us that have experienced the twists and turns of life."Those who can't remember the past are condemmed to repeat it".- George Santayana.

Remeber it is you life andI know it is hard to say who cares what other people think. Dont let other people run your life. Many people in the world today are trying to keep up with the Jones. THe funny thing the Jones are trying to keep up with someone else. It is your life and live it the way you want to

Why not change your self inflicted messages to something positive. Think the glass is half full rather than half empty. Be delighted you have employment you like and offer just a tiny bit more to make yourself more valuable to your immediate supervisor/super ordinate. Do something kind for someone just to be nice. Give smiles, they are free and you usually get them returned, it can make someone's day.
Enjoy a pleasant, unhurried meal you've prepared, add a flower to the table and treat yourself to a bit of exotic fruit...something you've never tried before. Wear your favorite outfit to work one day this upcoming week. Create a night time routine that has one element of pamper. Use lotion on feet & add socks to recover dry skin before bedtime for example.
Tell yourself you are a wonderful person and you're good at ___________
and you like ____________________

Everyone has that, and me no less than anyone else. But I always have to tell myself that what sets people apart is how they recover from the low points. This week I felt like I saw my entire (albeit short) career slipping out from under me after an abysmal evaluation in the training program I'm currently going through. The couple days since, I've been working my butt off to improve on the points that caused such a big problem for me the other day. It's not about how low you fall, it's more about how far you climb in spite of it.

In this winter weather it's easy to feel miserable. It'll be good when spring comes again!
One thing to think about is that no matter how bad things have been before, somehow you got through them and got to where you are now. Which may not seem like the best place at the moment, but I'm sure it's better than situations you've been in before. So no matter how bad things were before, somehow you managed, and somehow you'll manage to get through things again, even if there doesn't seem to be an obvious way out. And remember, people who are younger wish they had all the experience you do, so the jealousy goes both ways.

No, there are too many life experiences out there for me to give up. I look forward to the next phase of my life as my children are growing up. I can't wait to live new places and learn new things.....I would like to pursue my doctorate, live in a sun state, travel.
This has been a long miserable winter and it's difficult to feel upbeat but just a few more weeks and we can put it past us.

I think everyone will go through that phase nobody who they are or where they are. Not because they are trying to figure out what is the meaning of life but because they've been alive for so long and get tired of having daily routines. I believe that the trick is to mix it up. Although you may have somewhat of a daily routine like workout, job, dinner, tv and then sleep...maybe mix it up a little and skip something. When I was younger, I would call-in and not go to work in the middle of the week and take the day off. That helped me. It may not be for you so make the right decision.

In the words of Stuart Smalley: "You are good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, people like you!"
And I say that in all seriousness!
Like others have said, maybe a case of the winter blues. Everyone feels like this occasionally I think.
