if you don't care about classy rooms, you can get rooms at palace station hotel for around $40 a day. I stayed at howard johnson, right off the strip, but still on las vegas blvd and paid $30 a day. there are so much deals to be had, it's unbelieveable, shop for em.

Vegas has been greatly impacted by the recession. There are great deals to be had at almost all of the properties. Today, there is no need to go as far as Palace Station for a cheap room. I constantly get e-mails from Harrah's properties to come to Vegas for as little as $20/night right on the strip. I am a Total Rewards member, so my offers might be better than what a non-member would get, but I'm sure cheap rooms are to be had for everyone.

I'd go with Bellagio. It's gorgeous! Also, check cheapovegas.com for more information on things to do on a budget.

If you haven't already booked look into the Flamingo aswell. Their GO ROOMS are really nice. It's very affordable and a great central location. I've stayed in Vegas a few times and Flamingo is my fav place to stay. Also don't forget about the $20 trick. First time I went to Vegas I booked a cheap $30/night room at the Flamingo, arrived, slipped the young lady at the desk a $20 bill with my license and credit card and asked if their were any complimentary upgrades. Got put in a new GO ROOM on the 26th floor looking directly at the Bellagio Fountains. Perfect room and view. Stayed at Caesers in December on a comp and hated it. Going back in June and staying at Flamingo again comped for the whole stay.

Make sure to sign up for Players Cards. I'm no big money gambler, mainly play poker and Harrah's keeps sending me crap in the mail and when I last booked my stay a few weeks ago I could have stayed all Summer for free except for the weekends which were $50 a night. Also remember that splurging for a nice room at the Bellagio or Venetian or where ever isn't really necessary as you prob will only go to your room to sleep.

The Bellagio is beautiful! Have you looked at their pics on-line? I love watching the fountain in front...it reminds me of the movie Ocean 11.

Ballys and Paris are great central locations. They just redid most of the rooms over at Ballys and it connects right to the Paris plus there is a walkway over the strip to go to the Belliago.
