  • Kids, charity and money

I think events like the Katrina disaster are awonderfully opportunity to teach kids values in a number of areas:

Not only can the learn to help others in need, they have the opportunity to learn about money and how to earn it. It's especially powerful if it is initiated by the kids themselves. if your kids express interest in helping, take the time to work with them. It will pay off in countless ways.

While in the dentist office yesterday I read where Madonna gave her daughter, Lourdes, a credit card with a USD $10,000 credit limit, hoping to teach Lourdes how to be responsible with money. Lourdes is 8 years old....

    Well...

In Madonna's defense, USD $10,000 to her is like $10 to us. And you certainly cannot argue that Madonna is a shrewd business woman whose success in undisputable. Each parent must take into consideration their child's nature and what method of teaching would be the best for that child.
