Did I mention "not having to drive on snowy, icy roads to get to work"?

There are times when I have my doubts about retiring early. But, not this week.....

Within reason, enjoy your time while you have it. Take those vacations. Enjoy some of your money along the way.

I don't really plan on retirement until the health gives out. I do plan on eventually cutting back and taking sabbaticals. At some point, I may decide to switch careers if something strikes me.
I agree, I'm 23 right now. I Love life soo much, that I am content. There ARE things I still want, like a house on a lake, possibly more money, more traveling, but these are things I have to work for. I still take 1-2 vacations a year, I just make them cheap ones now while I'm laid off and not making as much. For example I'm going to flordia on the 27, and returning on march 4th. With my 5 friends I'm going with the total cost for the hotel for the week is only 170, and were driving to save even more cash.

When I retire, I want to do exactly what I'm doing now, enjoying the company of close friends, laughing with them, drinking with them, playing on boats, and making music with good friends. I wouldn't have it any other way.

screw it, i just wanna retire, sit by a pool or lake and get drunk with my wife (if and when i get married) and my friends. Having a big bird to chill with would also increase the fun of the situation.

Could I semi-retire early? What I'd like to do is work about half the hours I do now, so I'd have more time to travel and visit friends in other cities and do things.

I'd take off two days a week so I'd have a four-day weekend. Then the other half-day that I'd get off, I'd spread throughout my hours each day. Whenever a really annoying customer came in, I'd be like, oops, gotta go, I'm taking another half hour off right now.

          Hey, I can dream, can't I?

If you have no debt, I think you should be able to organize (re-organize?) your life & finances accordingly & do this now!

I plan to retire in my mid 50's because I'm in a profession meant for young healthy people but will probably do something else. Not sure what at this point but I have a drive to stay active so I'm sure I'll find something to do

Best part is it will be my choice at that point. If I don't like it I can leave and do something else.
