Can you explain this ebay auction to me?

I remember seeing auctions for laptops that the seller listed how to use bing cashback to get xx.xx amount of money off the auction. Basically they went through bing to purchase the ebay item...then bing would send the buyer %15 or whatever of the $500 item. So the buyer would be getting the item at a $75 discount while the seller got to keep his entire $500.

But as for giftcards that go for such little amounts, I have no idea why people pay more than what they are worth. I don't get it.

That's their way on promoting their site or selling their products in order to gain some profits.
