An old professor of mine once said: it is crazy to count on the lottery, but it is even crazier not to play it at all, especially when the jackpot is high. Serious words of wisdom.
Guess I'm as crazy as they come.
I don't think I will ever buy a lottery ticket.

Article writing is extremely lucrative these days. You can write for pay in article submission sites, you can write blogs for others on your site, or you can actually write blog posts on their sites. You can write article by the thousands and there is never a shortage of work.
I second the lessons idea. I've been teaching flute lessons since I was a freshman in high school. The money has paid for a new flute, my first car, my books in college and spending money. As an adult it has financed vacations, Christmas and other whims I ear mark it for. You must have a talent for it or parents wouldn't/shouldn't pay you, but if you have the talent you can charge $15/$20 a half hour.
This will come handy. God forbid if I lose my job.
