This is really getting ridiculous. I've been to three stores that already have Christmas displays out along side the Halloween displays. Costco is full of Christmas stuff, my local drugstore is the same way as well as another one close by. It really cheapens the holiday when they start selling this stuff so early.

They're looking for business. Christmas (and the entire winter holiday season) is easily most merchandiser companies' best time for profits, so they're trying to get it started as soon as possible, and will similarly drag it out as long as possible.
However, I do strongly agree with you. It's only just barely October and they're putting out Christmas stuff.... I hate that. Commercialized holiday? No!!
This is the kind of shenanigans that make me always try to hand-make the gifts I give as much as I'm able...

Sweeps, the truly frugal person will note that red taper candles sold for Christmas will work equally as well for the Valentine's Day table.
Go forth and buy red stuff.
