  • yard sale finds

So I went yard sale-ing today, I got a 95% new pair of nikes same style I always pay 49.99 for at the store. I paid 2 bucks, they are barely dirty and still feel new. Then I found a computer chair for hubby, similar style at office max for about 50 I paid 3. I got more but those are my best finds. So I saved 95.

lol I bought a broken clarinet from an estate sale two doors down for 10 bucks, and I got a Stroh's mug for a buck. Not a total lose, the clarinet is a decent decorative piece!

        Today's Hunt

Husband and I went hunting today. There were several listings in a town ten miles away, but we got sidetracked and never got there. We did find a nice modern curio cabinet with a light and glass shelves for $20. They took $18 and gave us some twine to tie it to the top of the car. Husband collects glasses from horse races, and the ones from burger joints with cartoon characters on them. So now he has a place to display the best ones. There's no place to put the cabinet right now, so maybe I can FINALY get him to re-arrange the living room, something I've been wanting for 2 years almost. Then there will be room for his find.
We also got a package of weather stripping and foam blocks to put behind the light switches for 75 cents. Maybe the heating savings next winter will pay for the cabinet?

If you can find subdivision or city-wide it definitely helps with the gas costs as you can just walk. Then you can just go once or twice a year and find most things on your want list.
