  • Another good customer service story - PayLess Shoes

We went to PayLess shoes at the mall yesterday because my daughter needed new jazz or ballet shoes for the show she is in this summer. She tried on the largest size of jazz shoes and they didn't fit. We asked the clerk and she checked the computer and said they don't come any larger (my daughter has fairly big feet). Then she checked the ballet shoes. They do come larger, but they didn't have them in stock. Another location did have the larger size. She called and had them hold the pair for us. She also printed out a $3.00 off coupon for us "for our inconvenience." We stopped at the other store on the way home, really not much out of our way at all. They had the shoes, they fit and we bought them, saving $3.00 in the process. We certainly didn't expect the discount. We weren't upset about anything. In fact, we were grateful that she called the other store and found a pair. The $3.00 off was a nice bonus.

    Good job PayLess.

Besides the customer service, I'm surprised to hear they carry dance shoes. I had no idea.

Yep. DD always gets them there. I don't recall how we learned about it but it must have been from her theater director a few years ago when she first started doing theater.

I really like payless. I am a teacher and am really hard on my shoes. When I first started teaching, I figured I would buy payless shoes every year and just throw them out...I am suprised that many of them have lasted be 3-4 years of everyday use.

LOVE Payless. & I wear the same shoes every day forever. The sell for me is that it is the only place they sell reasonably priced wide-sized shoes - for both me and the kids.

Anyway, love their online store too - since I have my fave styles over time, I tend to order them online and free ship for pickup at the store. While there I can try on other shoes and get a feel for size. Sometimes when I am in the store and they don't have my size I just go home and order it online.

I Was just there picking up shoes this weekend and the sales clerk was printing out a list of locations where a certain pair of shoes were - for another customer. That is nice - though if you can wait a few days - just order them and ship it to the store for fre.

I like their shoes better than walmart. They seem more durable. On the ticket they seem more expensive but if you go when they are having buy one get one half off, it is priced same as walmart. My kids like the styles better too.

Many years ago I purchased shoes at PayLess a few times. While I liked some of the styles, I felt the shoes lacked support and were very uncomfortable. I would much sooner purchase shoes at Kohl's or Super Shoes that don't hurt my feet, even though they cost a bit more. My children have worn shoes from PayLess...no issues with them regarding comfort, but I have noticed that they don't hold up very well, IMO.

my son likes their skateboard shoes because they hold up better for that since they use the sneakers for breaks. I personally have bone spurs and bad arches so i need good shoes. I prefer nike air monarch for this but then still need inserts from the podiatrist
