  • BIG Boxing PPV Fight this Saturday

It’s Pacquiao vs. Hatton for Jr. Welterweight Championship Belts. Ricky is the Champion. Pacquiao is the 5-Time weight Division Champion looking for his 6.

I've been looking forward to this Fight ever since it was announced last January. I'm a big boxing fan. So I got bunch of relatives, friends, and neighbors coming over tomorrow night. I expect at least 30 people will be showing up, perhaps more if they bring their kids.

I want everyone to enjoy themselves. But I also want people to chip in for the PPV which cost $50.00 + PIZZA ($50.00) = $100.00. It doesn't even have to be the entire cost just something. I also have friend who can get bring a KEG but won't be charging people for that. By the way, I've always enjoy hosting fight nights for free. So it’s a bit weird asking people this time around. But then again, I never had this number of people showing up.

So here is my question, how do you ask people to chip in without appearing or sounding desperate? Do you let everyone know up front as when they come in, or do you place a bowl by the front door where people can see it as they walk-in? How do you do it discreetly? I want to make it fair for everyone. So I am charging even my relatives. Do I put minimum dollar value…I just don’t know

I've done this type of thing in the past. I just put an empty goldfish bowl or something similar with "donation for PPV, beer, pizza, etc.. Worked fine. No one got upset or anything. If 30 contribute 3 to 5 dollars( very reasonable) you should recover most costs I believe.

      Easiest way: 5 bucks.

It's reasonable fare for something that everyone knows costs extra money (or else they'd spend the time in their home like most other major sporting events).

Personally my dad can't stand to have large crowds for any boxing match because the conversations seem to take away from the action.
