  • Chase gets rid of free FICO score!

I just got an email that Chase is getting rid of the free FICO score on WaMu credit cards. I'm considering canceling that card now - not that Chase would care, they don't make money on me

I heard this, but I also saw they are reducing the minimum payment from 4% to 2%. That doesn't matter if have a $0 balance, though. It does free up some money for folks doing a debt snowball with this as one of the cards, as their minimum will now be halved.

I'm sure there's another card you can apply for that has the free FICO. My Amex does, but I don't think any of my other cards do currently. Anyone know of one?

I heard this, too. I'm disappointed about this, too. It was an easy way for me to track my FICO.

Bummer. I am definitely closing mine. I knew it would happen someday.

Just so you guys know. If you close the card it will probably ding your credit score a bit.

Certainly a concern if you max out your cards or are trying to improve a lower score. A useless concern most otherwise.

My utilization is very low, I don't expect the closure amount to a hill of beans with my 800+ FICO. (BEcause closing old cards never has - I've closed many cards over the years).

I closed my Chase Credit Card five days ago. When it was paying 5% on gas and groceries, it was great. Once I redeemed my points for cash, I didn't hesitate to close it. BofA and Chase seem less and less attractive a banks I want to deal with each passing month.

It was inaccurate anyway.. I have two different cards that offer it, and it's never even close to the number myfico.com provides.. Just get a myfico.com account, I love it..
