I have sold for many years on ebay and more recently quite a bit on half.com. There is a book that I've been wanting to list on half.com but they don't have it in their system. I sent a request to add it weeks ago but they haven't done so, so I decided to list it on Amazon. I just registered and listed it. If it sells, it will go toward the Ebay Challenge money. There was one new copy listed for $20.00 and several used copies starting at about $3.50. Mine is brand new and I priced it at $9.95. Hopefully, someone will grab it.

* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

I *love* selling on Amazon. It could not be easier. My strategy is the same as Walmart -- sell at the lowest price. If the cheapest price for Used - Like New is $9.99, I list mine for $9.98. The strategy has paid off as I've made nearly $200 in the past two weeks selling DVD's on Amazon. If the item doesn't sell for a few days, I go in and modify the price to ensure I'm the lowest. The best part is, if you are the lowest price, your listing shows on top...and I think that's why my items have sold so quickly.
You can sell nearly EVERYTHING on Amazon, assuming there is a listing for the item. I've sold a used Waffle Sticks Maker, DVD's, video games, books, etc. They do have some restrictions on top selling items (I was not allowed to sell my Wii Fit.)

My only problem was shipping, I've never really packed and shipped anything before and I suppose I was a bit stubborn to learn to do so. When out and about around town I've seen some places like little UPS packaging centers and such that appear to do it for you, but I never actually went inside. Is it pretty easy?
If you are shipping Priority Mail, you can get free boxes from the post office. You can order them online or pick up supplies at your local post office. If you are selling fragile stuff, buy a roll of bubble wrap. I've found the best place to do that is ebay. The other good thing to have is styrofoam packing peanuts. I've been selling online about 15 years and have never paid a penny for those. I just save them whenever I get them and tell my family and friends to do the same. You can buy them on ebay, too, if you have to.
The only other thing that makes life a whole lot easier is a scale. Otherwise, you have to pack everything and take it to the post office to get weighed before you list the item for sale, then take it back again to ship. That's a huge waste of time.
You can do everything from the comfort of your home since you can print postage at home now and have Priority Mail picked up for free. I hardly ever go into a post office. I just do everything at home and take the packages to work with me and the mailman takes them from there.Steve
