  • paypal policy-holding funds

I just signed my daughter up for ebay and paypal so she could sell her college books. I read that they hold your funds until positve feedback or 21 days!! whats up with that?

Its a little known fact that eBay (which owns PayPal) is working hard all the time to bring about its own demise. Through increased fees, greater restrictions, and needless obstacles, the current projection is that eBay will be out of business by 2013.

Go eBay! You can do it!

Yes I told her to list some on Craigslist as well so that she would have some money towards her new texts

Checkout half.com and amazon.com as well.

I wouldn't use ebay for books. I would definitely use half.com, and yes, they are owned by ebay but PayPal isn't involved in the process and you don't have to deal with auctions, non-paying bidders, etc.

For textbooks, I've fared better at Amazon than half.com. YMMV.

Though not the best way to get top dollar, you might also check out Blue Rectangle and Big Words as easy alternatives for selling books.

Try selling them to someone taking the class next semester on school bulletin board
