  • Redeemed Coke Rewards points

I'm on a mission to start using any and all reward points that I've accumulated from various programs. I have a habit of accumulating points and trying to get the most value out of them. In the process, though, I often end up getting nothing. So I want to start using them and getting something even if it isn't the best possible use of the points.

Coke Rewards was first on my list. I entered a bunch of codes this morning which took me up to 712 points. I decided that rather than trying to get something like movie tickets or other things that I may or may not use, I'll just get free Coke. I know we'll use that. I ordered coupons for buy one get one free 12-packs of Coke. I got 6 coupons. They expire 12/31 but that's no problem. I can go out this weekend and use them. That leaves me 112 points. I know I have some more codes laying around at home. I'll enter those in the next couple of days and redeem those points, too.

I also need to do my Pepsi points. Those are good for MP3 downloads from Amazon. I don't have anything specific I want but I'll browse around and find something or ask DD if she wants anything.

I don't know about up in NJ where you're at, but this is heresy down here in the south. Drink both Coke and Pepsi? for shame....

(I write this from Atlanta, staying with friends, where Coke legitimately OWNS this town.) LOL

Very funny, kork13. Around here, most people have a preference but will drink whichever is available. For us at home, it is whichever is on sale when we're running low.

I have an advantage with the Pepsi points. My boss stocks the office with Pepsi 12-packs. Actually has them delivered to the office. Nobody else cares so I collect all of the points off of those packs and it doesn't cost me anything.

        Coke Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

( I'm just playing. What other points are you trying to use up? One thought might be getting things you don't like and selling them via Craigslist or Ebay.)

The other main one is a rewards program from a survey company I do professional work for, not something I can sell or transfer. I also have HI points from Harris polls.

            me too!

We've been trying to use Harris points, mypoints, Aadvantage miles, and old gift certificates, nfo survey points, and gift cards.
I'm not a soda drinker (one of my few non-vices), but whenever I run across points, people snap them up on freecycle.

My problem isn't finding something to get with the points. It is making a decision. If I have 50 points, I see what that will get me but also see that for 75 I can get something better, so I wait. Then when I have 75 points, I see that for 100 I can get something even better. I want to just pick something and use what I've got.

RecycleBank is the other big program I need to work on. I was all excited 6 months ago when we got this in my area. We've accumulated over 1,300 points and have yet to redeem a single reward.

It is a neat program. Since it was started in our town, the recycling rate (which was already pretty good) went up 90%! I know we are much more aggressive in our recycling efforts. We don't recycle at work so I'm always bringing home bags and boxes of stuff to put in my bin at home.
