I doubt you'll have any problems at all. Pick the best for you and go ahead and apply. Just don't do a bunch at once and pay it off monthly once you get it!!

my husband pays his whole bill as soon as he gets it and only uses it to keep it "active" and building on his credit!! I am afraid to apply because I always get denied!! when I bought the cra she said I had some "scars" becuase of hospital bills in past "appendix bursted" and I had no insurance then and supposedly the are my credit as non medical, but with all that I still had no credit score at all!??!! this stuff doesn't make sense to me!

TARGET GUEST CARD is an easy one to get and CHEVRON has a rebuilder card that they can offer you after you have been declined for a "regular" card. ALSO, go to www.orchard.com and fill out an application, they will do a soft pull (only you see it on your credit reports) and tell you what, if any, card you would qualify for.
I have also heard that BofA has a groovy offer where you can get a $500 line of credit for $99 fee(somewhat of a secured card)
but I would definatly go for the CHEVRON and the TARGET GUEST CARD and at least go to ORCHARD and plug in your info and see what comes back

        GOOD LUCK

LET US KNOW HOW IT GOES!

If you haven't, go to freecreditreport.com and get a copy of your credit report. (You can get one free one a year. You can also get one if you've been denied credit.) That way you can clear up anything that's goofy.

Store cards are the easiest (as prior posts suggest). You also might want to try Discover and/or American Express Optima.

Providian and Capital One are who offer low limit cards for people trying to rebuild. Try them out. Do you bank at bank of America or Wells Fargo? If your bank has its own credit card push the "total" relationship. Acquisition costs for a branch aquired credit card is cheaper then from an offer mailed.

Be aware though that many banks (Wachovia for example) dont offer their own credit cards but have a partnership with MBNA, so the relationship push wont help in that case as Wachovia has no say on whether you get a CC or not. Either way if you are content with a limit of 300 or 500 you should be able to find one.

I got declined from 2 credit card offers, so I am going to give it a rest until next year, I don't want to keep having hits on my credit... well actually one of them approved me but the fees were ridiculously high that it just wasn't worth it! Thanks though

You can get a free credit report from annualcreditreport.com - the freecreditreport site looks like you have to sign up for something to get it.

There are some prepaid credit cards that do help you build your credit, have you tried any of them.
